    Principal Quality Engineer, Supplier Management

    Overview

    Responsible for supplier and part quality, and developing improvement plans with supplier to improve quality performance and address quality deficiencies. Implement best practices that emphasize on supplier defect prevention, reduction in variation and provide for continuous improvements in meeting customer requirements.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Qualify new supplier who are supplying critical component or/and critical and special processes in ensuring the desire output is consistently meeting product requirement.
    • Responsible for the approval and maintenance of approved suppliers by performing supplier quality system assessments, monitoring supplier performance, and driving supplier corrective action and/or improvement activities.
    • Leads projects related to supplier quality, incoming part quality and department initiatives, to improve supplier performance.
    • Leads in the evaluation and approval of supplier requested changes or improvements.
    • Perform routine supplier audit to ensure that quality standards comply with the customer requirements and regulatory standards.
    • Perform on site supplier visits to resolve complex quality issues and non-conformances. Exercise judgement based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
    • Drive continuous improvement efforts, through facilitating, leading, and collaborating with cross functional teams. Works independently with minimal guidance.
    • Responsible for reporting of quality trends and information to management on the performance of suppliers.
    • Establish agreement and standardize inspection methods, procedures, gages and equipment required for all materials with suppliers on supplier quality.
    • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Lead functional teams or projects with manageable risk and complexity.
    • Oversee MD/ID and Optics IPM putting in place the right organizational structure, disciplines, systems, and processes.
    • Supervising and guiding engineer to improve optics supplier quality performance
    • Keep abreast of DBS tools, such as 5S, DMP, SW, and TPI to drive continuous improvement with sustainable results.
    • Ensure the department operates under the Quality Management System and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and to address EHS issues raised by associates.

    Your Profile

    • Degree/Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent applicable experience with at least 8 years relevant working experience in an assembly operations/engineering environment
    • Strong knowledge in various statistical control method and in QMS 9001. Familiar with ISO13485, USFDA QSR/cGMP (21 CFR Part 820) and ISO14971 for medical devices
    • Good understanding of metrology, Inspection Methods, Equipment and engineering drawings
    • .Knowledge of measurement techniques
