Role:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting in ensuring that the operations of BMT comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
He/she will report to the Head of Compliance and work closely with other stakeholders to implement and monitor compliance programs within BMT.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Stay updated on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the company's compliance procedures are current and effective.
- Assist in maintaining records of compliance activities, including policies, procedures, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist in identifying compliance risks within the organization and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate those risks.
- Perform due diligence, including AML, KYC, negative news and sanction screening through World-Check and other online platforms on new and existing relationships.
- Provide support to Head of Compliance in implementing compliance initiatives, responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies, and managing compliancerelated projects.
- Work closely with other departments, such as operations and frontline, to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance across the organization.
Skills and qualifications:
- A Diploma or equivalent qualification in law, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant compliance experience
- Good knowledge of MAS regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to trust business.
- Proficient in MS tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong team player and possess a positive attitude.
- Conscientious, with good attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Independent and positive working attitude
