Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will oversee either the Sungei Kadut-Jalan Papan Workshop Vehicles (tipper trucks, lorries, diesel trucks, no-plate/ vehicles) or Clementi Workshop Heavy Machineries (excavators, articulated trucks etc).

Sungei Kadut - Jalan Papan Workshop

To provide day-to-day supervision of Workshop mechanics ensuring safety, quality, and productivity
To ensure vehicles are serviced or repaired efficiently and with high standards
To maintain a complete documented history of each vehicle's works
To act as a technical expert, advising mechanics and sharing knowledge
To work closely with mechanics for efficient troubleshooting

Clementi Workshop

Logistics

Manage machinery and equipment deployment, tracking, and status update
Conduct site visits for correlation of movements and updates
Propose procurement and scrapping of equipment, updating utilization rates
Coordinate repairs with Maintenance Engineer, manage staff, billing, and responsibilities
Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by management

Maintenance

Ensure efficient corrective repairs and preventive maintenance
Provide reports and update management on costs and repairs
Coordinate spare parts availability for timely repairs
Monitor correct machinery usage and maintenance
Review staff performance, liaise with external workshops
Ensure timely billing clearance for external repairs
Undertake ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by management

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
Minimum 2 years experience in Vehicle Workshop or Heavy Machinery environment
Ability to work under pressure and communicate complex concepts
Work independently and in a team, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Effective communicator with stakeholders and willingness to travel to construction sites
