- Conduct research on 1 topic of choice, to do a write-up of approximately words, to feature archival collections.
- Conduct historical research to contribute to NAS social media content.
- Conduct data gathering and analyses on users' e-Request submissions, identify popularly requested collections and create a recommendation list on records to be made readily accessible.
- Propose, design, and prepare a resource guide/finding aid to assist in research enquiries.
- Provide support where needed to make record available.
- Conduct a presentation on learning points from internship research experience, data findings etc., and propose any improvements to the Archives Reading Room team and management.
- Assist in records processing in NAS' e-Request system to attend to researcher's request submissions.
- Address patron's research queries both onsite and through the enquiry management system.
- Assist in weekly maintenance of Archives Reading Room facilities together with staff.
- Students from History related courses preferred, but general Arts/Humanities/Social Science background with keen interest in history and research are also welcomed.
- Good written communication skills and able to write in clear, standard English targeted to different audiences/needs.
- Keen interest in Singapore heritage and familiarity with historical research using primary sources and the internet.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel & Word.
- Comfortable with customer service work and enjoys working with people of diverse background.
