What the role is
The National Environment Agency's (NEA) Public Engagement Group (PEG) leads NEA's overall public engagement efforts and strengthens NEA's brand equity through strategic communications, 3P engagements, and service excellence.
The Strategic Communications and Engagement Branch within the 3P Network Division (3PND) oversees the integration of strategic communications, engagement and feedback with policy-ops roll-out, to ensure smooth implementation.
Our aim is to allow NEA to better connect with and understand citizens' concerns, and open up space for co-creating policies and programmes.
What you will be working on
You will work in partnership with PEG, operational and policy line departments to develop customised, strategic Communications and Engagement (CE) plans that complement NEA's overarching policy and operations approach.
You will be responsible for the following:

Sense Making: Integrate available data to develop a deeper understanding of NEA's CE operating environment.

Policy Shaping: Align CE objectives to public policies by having a comprehensive understanding of policy implications and priorities, providing counsel on CE effectiveness and likely public reception/ feedback.

Narrative Setting and Message Testing:Develop overarching narratives and key messages to drive all CE efforts in NEA. Proactively red-team agencies' CE efforts by identifying potential derailers and preparing strategies to mitigate them.

Design of CE Interventions:Identify suitable strategies and platforms for outreach to different stakeholders in a targeted and sustained manner.

Futures Planning:Engage in the latest trends in the CE landscape to protect or further NEA's interests, pre-empting possible future events for long-term response and strategy development.

Corporate Planning:Support the PEG Group Director and 3PND Divisional Director in the areas of corporate strategy planning and workplan review.
What we are looking for
- Excellent writing skills with strong project management and analytical abilities.
- Able to lead and work collaboratively in crossfunctional teams, selfdriven, organised.
- At least 45 years of relevant experience in public communications/engagement, policy planning or data analytics.
- A degree in mass communications, policy studies or social sciences is preferred.
- As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
