Laboratory Manager (Oil & Chemical)

Job Summary:

• Salary: Basic $5,500 - $7,000 + AWS + VB
• Shift allowance
• 1st shift: 08:30am to 06:00pm or 09:30am to 07:00pm
• 2nd shift: 11:00am to 08:30pm or 12:00pm to 09:30pm or 12:30pm to 10:00pm or 01:00pm to 10:30pm
• Either Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday according to work schedule
• Location: Woodlands

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and ensure company adherence to confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health, and safety standards.
• Manage lab finances, including planning and execution.
• Oversee lab operations, including strategic goal planning and execution, and control, planning, and management of operations.
• Drive capability enhancement initiatives.
• Validate results and issue reports as required.
• Review and write SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Plan method studies and tasks.
• Plan and execute proficiency testing.
• Lead by example and advocate for EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), integrity, compliance, and ethics.
• Identify and develop new areas of work and required test equipment.
• Highlight and investigate unusual results.
• Interpret standards in accordance with operating manuals.
• Supervise all work within the section(s) and train staff accordingly.
• Conduct internal audits, QC checks, equipment maintenance, and calibration.
• Manage report issuance, purchasing, and inventory.
• Ensure calibration of all equipment in compliance with schedules.
• Ensure compliance with SAC-SINGLAS requirements for bunker oil testing.
• Provide oversight of all testing in respective laboratories.
• Sign appropriate reports and discuss test results with customers as necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science, or equivalent,
• Holds SAC Singlas signatory status and has extensive laboratory operation and management experience.
• Skilled in audit and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) management.
• Demonstrated experience in Bunker Oil Testing laboratory procedures.
• Prior experience in operating and managing Bunker Oil Testing laboratories.
• Possession of SAC-Singlas signatory for Bunker Oil Testing.
