    The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. He/she must possess a passion for working with youths and adult learners. There will be opportunities to develop curriculum skills with a focus on English Language and National Education/Service Learning and hone administrative skills related to teaching and driving School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job too. Successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills.

    [ What you will be working on]

    The appointee must be competent to teach skills in the Common Core Curriculum ( ) and Poly Foundation Programme of the School that include:

  • Active and Effective Citizenry
  • Critical Thinking
  • Data Storytelling
  • Digital Communication and Collaboration
  • Effective Interpersonal Communication
  • Emotional and Cultural Intelligence
  • Foundation Language and Communication Skills
  • Personal Branding
  • Persuasive Communication (written and oral)
  • Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education & Training (CET) students (youths and adult learners)
  • Develop and maintain new/existing teaching curriculum and ensure industry relevancy
  • Work with external partners and SP schools/departments to coordinate and deliver modules effectively
  • Help craft and run unique institutional programmes and initiatives
  • Assist module teams to support the module teaching staff in delivering lessons and carry out other module-related matters effectively
  • Assist in the School's industry partnership efforts

  • Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team

  • People-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Enjoy new challenges and executing projects
  • Relevant qualification in the field of English Language/Applied Linguistics/Mass Communication/Communication Studies/Arts and Social Sciences
  • Candidates who possess experience in teaching at tertiary level or corporate training will have an added advantage
  • Proficient in the use of digital tools for teaching and social media would be desirable
  • Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
