This role will give you the opportunity to be part of the ASM Global Trade Compliance team, that has the responsibility to ensure that ASM global businesses are conducted in compliance with the various international export control laws and regulations, sanctions, and customs regulations.

As part of our global team, you will be a key business partner in performing due diligence on customers across the world.

In this role, no two days will be the same. Our growing Trade Compliance team spans across three regions and falls under the legal department.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct enhanced background due diligence on external business partners and clients
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate risk review programs with existing partners to control risks and ensure compliance with sanctions and export controls.
  • Collect and maintain review documentation and gather feedback to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance the system of record keeping, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data collected and retained.
  • Conduct Business Partner due diligence during onboarding, during periodic review, and upon event trigger
  • Identify and verify Know Your Customer documents
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure complete information and documentation are in place
  • Ensure all the required documentations such as business certificate, End User Certification, etc. are in place and renewed in a timely manner.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Degree with at least 5 years of experience in due diligence checks
  • Highly experienced in due diligence checks for countries such as China
  • Strong attention to detail and are meticulous in all areas of your work
  • You possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical
  • Professional proficiency in Chinese language to communicate effectively with China counterparts and read Chinese documents as part of due diligence checks
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience in semiconductor industry or the hightech sector would be a plus
