Medical Laboratory Scientist (Informatics, DPLM):

Responsibilities

  • Development of operating standards, policies, and procedures for endusers and enduser training
  • Critical review and timely recommendations of medical lab process redesign where necessary
  • Support and administration of the LIS
  • Purchase of IT hardware and software
  • Identification of IT needs including data storage, instrument interface and connectivity Participation in hospital or clusterlevel projects and systems upgrades
  • First level troubleshooting of IT problems including afterhours emergencies Assisting the department in data analytics for medical laboratory improvements

Requirements:


  • Degree in medical laboratory technology or related discipline. Personnel with additional relevant IT certification, postgraduate qualifications are welcomed.
  • Experience working in a medical laboratory setting and in line management and healthcare project management will be advantageous
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Selfmotivated, driven and tenacious with a resolute commitment to bringing creative and highly intelligent solutions towards apparently unsurmountable and complex IT challenges
