Portfolio Execution Group


Portfolio Execution Group encompasses multiple teams that perform a range of functional roles including trade execution, funding and liquidity management, securities financing, beta replication and asset rebalancing, and applied quantitative research.

This group comprises four sub-teams - Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG), Beta and Asset Rebalancing (BAR), Global Trading Unit (GTU) and Applied Research Unit (ARU).


Balance Sheet Management


The team is currently seeking a Portfolio Manager who is interested in developing a successful career in liquidity management and funding activities at GIC, based in
Singapore.

As part of the global Portfolio Management team, you will manage GIC's centralized liquidity pool and the Total Portfolio's funding and currency hedging program.

Your responsibility will be to implement strategies that generate returns from money markets and secured funding opportunities, while managing GIC's securities lending program to extract outperformance from GIC's available inventory.


What will you do?

  • Dynamically manage funding requirements and the liquidity portfolio for GIC
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage risk and generate returns from BMG's activities across global FX and money markets
  • Direct projects that expand BMG's business platform and capabilities. These include operating and investment frameworks, technology and systems build, process and workflow improvements etc.
  • Add value to BMG's firm resource management initiatives; develop and deepen external partnerships to optimize and extract value from GIC's balance sheet
  • Contribute to internal workgroups that manage GIC's Total Portfolio activities
  • Offer insights and innovative perspectives on global funding and money markets

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • 48 years of experience in FX and money markets with indepth knowledge of relevant instruments, drivers and dynamics
  • Ability to formulate investment strategies to generate P&L using cash and derivative instruments, including in crosscurrency markets. Risktaking/portfolio management experience would be desirable
  • Excellent problemsolving and critical thinking skills, with attention to details
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; effective in building relationships to positively impact business outcomes
  • Growthoriented mindset and desire to drive change
  • Balance of creativity and discipline to navigate market opportunities within internal constructs
  • Experience with projects that involve technology/systems build or significant crossteam collaboration to enhance business capabilities is a plus
  • Programming skills (Python, R, SQL, Tableau) and quantitative ability is not required but would be desirable
