What the role is

Purpose of Job

You will be part of the team which mission is to enhance the Governance, Risk
Management, and Compliance within SFA. The team works closely with the various
departments of SFA in identifying the operational risks and the relevant controls.
This includes conducting system review for process hardening through early
identification of risk. The team also sets out to measure level of compliance and
effectiveness of governance through audits and inspections.

What you will be working on

The officer reports to the Director, Operational Risk Management Department, and is responsible for the following:

Risk Management
a. Work with SFA departments on identification of operational risks as well as the related controls
b. Conducts scenario analysis to test adequacy of controls
c. Manage the overall operational risk register and identify emerging risks
d. Conduct process and system reviews through analysis or through system audits
e. Assist SFA divisions to review operational SOPs with a view to identify and mitigate inherent risks at the upfront
f. Maintain and monitor the database of near-miss and risk incident report
g. Conduct root cause analysis on risk trends
h. Identify and track relevant KRIs as well as monitoring other databases which could assist with risk identification, e.g. AARs
i. Network with Risk Champions to ensure risk governance
j. Secretariat role for Risk Management meetings
Audits and Inspections
k. May be required to assist the Operations unit in conducting audits, inspections, red teamings or ground observations, and track follow-ups of all recommendations till closure
Capability Building
l. Identify trainings/courses for skills enhancements for ORMD Review officers

Requirements
Analytical, selfmotivated, resultoriented and dynamic. Able to thrive under pressure and work as a team
Preferably with a business or policy review experience/background and able to look at the big picture
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Possess strong analytical skills
Able to work outside normal office hours on occasions
Selected officer will be sent for training/courses to equip him/her with the relevant competencies to perform the duties
