Duties:


  • Provide leadership and engagement across broad audiences to identify IT enterprise network requirements that are needed to support business needs.
  • Lead teams in developing network architectural design and security changes in response to evolving business requirements.
  • Drive the execution of network architecture using industry best practices, providing technical and architectural guidance to teams across platforms, including promoting adherence to design standards and methodologies.
  • Plan and manage the development and implementation of IT enterprise network changes in compliance with IT security requirements, identifying opportunities to improve enterpriselevel IT network securities.
  • Establish and define policies and principles to guide technology decisions for enterprise IT network services and security requirements.
  • Manage the evaluation of the impact of IT systems, products and other architecture on IT enterprise network capabilities and security requirements.
  • Provide strategic planning, capital planning and investment control for IT enterprise network infrastructure, services and securities.
  • Maintain active vendor and contractor collaboration to ensure that USCIS business requirements are considered as part of enterprise solutions planning.
  • Provide guidance for the resolution of complex IT network security and integration issues.
  • Develop longterm IT plans that anticipate changes in business requirements and mitigate network vulnerabilities and instabilities.

Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period:

GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties:

  • Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and engineering solutions and recommendations to management regarding critical IT issues with agencywide impact.
  • Providing direction and coordination for technical teams for enterprise IT network infrastructure components, technology transitions, and migrations.
  • Providing enterprise architecture direction, support, and coordination to business customers and internal IT project teams.
  • Identifying and anticipating enterprise architecture requirements and changes, including IT security requirements, based on agency initiatives and current events.
