How you would make a difference
The business analyst has the following areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

Analysis

  • Facilitate the development of a Business Case by acting as a consultant to the client
  • Analysis and documentation of customer requirements
  • Understanding and reporting on current state vs future state
  • Evaluate, design and change business processes
  • Translation of the customer requirement into a functional requirement
  • Delegation of tasks and processes to team members
  • Facilitation of JAD session with customers and product owners to unpack requirements
  • Coach and mentor team members to reach organizational goals and maintain quality deliverables Solutioning
  • Analysis and documentation of the functional requirements
  • Understanding the overall value proposition and being able to position and follow through on planned delivery execution
  • Thorough understanding of the product offering and being able contextualize this offering in new markets
  • Solid understanding of functional decomposition and what is required for a system phased implementation
  • Maintaining a high quality of deliverables and ensuring strict timelines are adhered to as part of team delivery
  • Ensure strict requirements traceability maintained and improve on overall product deliverables
  • Collaboration with business and systems architects on overall product feasibility and implementation standards
Team management Leadership

  • Regular deliverable reviews and quality assurance sessions
  • Definition of operational processes and process improvements
  • Drive implementation of approved and prioritized business requirements
Agile Methodology

  • Design and validate the functional solution using Agile Methodology
  • This involves interpreting the product / functional requirements into Agile Epics and Stories
  • Plan Agile Sprints and Stories for the Sprint
  • Identify a set of stakeholders that need to be involved in creating and validating the Agile Story
  • Board by interview business and technical owners, as well as experienced members of the development team (Development Manager, Architect, Snr BA)
  • Validate the Agile Epics, Stories and Test Basket with the identified stakeholders and obtain signoff

What you need to be successful

Knowledge and Experience:

  • BSc Computer Science Degree or relevant 3 years qualification
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Software Development as a Business Analyst
  • At least 2 years' experience leading a team Business Analysts
  • 4 years' UML Experience
  • Knowledge of DevOps Methodologies and Tools
  • Experience in Health Insurance
  • ITIL services framework
  • Knowledgeable in Agile management tools, techniques and systems
  • Agile SCRUM Methodologies
  • Business Analyst Body of Knowledge
  • Good experience working with cross functional teams
  • Business experience and product knowledge
  • Exposure and knowledge of industry compliance standards and legislation

Education / Qualifications / Accreditations with Professional Body:

  • Minimum IT degree level education (BCom or BSc in information systems or computer science)
  • CBAP Certification (advantageous)
  • Business Analyst Diploma or Similar

Technical Skills:

  • UML, BPMN
  • SQL, XML Spy, PostMan, SOAP UI
  • Enterprise Architect, DrawIO, Visio, Notepad++
