Introduction:As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be reporting to Analytics Center of Excellence ( CoE ) Manager and leading problem-solving teams on any database platform and deliver robust recommendations to effectively store, secure, and manage data. You will lead the team in the development and adoption of cross-platform products/roadmap, recommend overall sizing of in frastructure for data and analy tics platforms.


Your Job:


  • De monstrates functional knowledge of advanced database features and concepts ( e.g. performance tuning) and uses them effectively.
  • Independently delivers data products leveraging ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts.
  • Independently engages with team on infrastructure needs and has thoughtful recommendations for common data problems (e.g., low memory)
  • Perform overall rootcause analysis in case of programming errors and recommend solution.
  • Ensure data engineering codebase is well structured, documented and optimized as part of an efficient data pipeline.
  • Sets and enforces pod guidelines for best coding practices early in use case development and leads regular effective code review process across data engineering team.
  • Performs overall rootcause analysis in case of programming errors and recommends solutions.
  • Develop the domain specific data requirements and exploratory analyses.
  • Helps shape data quality delivery and guides colleagues in proper data analysis and clean up.
  • Guides data engineers in data quality as sessment and exploratory analysis
  • Understands indepth data/IT architecture, security, governance, and data ecosystem.
  • Independently architects' solutions on cloud platform for workstreams.
  • Build physical data models for workstream, with little or guidance and explore data ecosystem creation.
  • Leverage data architecture patterns to accelerate work.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field
  • Expertise in ELT and data analysis, SQL and at least one programming language ( e.g., Pyspark, Python )
  • Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, reporting tools, data governance, and structured and unstructured data.
  • Strong understanding on agile methodologies and experience as a Data Engineer on a crossfunctional agile team preferred.
  • Experience with designing and maintaining data warehouses and/or data lakers with big data Snowflake, and experience with housing, accessing, and transforming data in a variety of relational databases.
  • Experience with cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS) and developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space.
  • Experience with containerization and managing pipelines and microservices ( e.g. Docker, K ubernetes)
  • Experience in building data pipelines and deploying/ maintaining them with a bestinclass tools (e.g., Git and Jen kins)
  • Exposure in machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
  • Basic familiarity with BI tools ( e.g Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
  • Experience working in data engineering or data architecture role.
  • Focuses on agile delivery with a "failfast ", succeed early "mindset and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate the value of a design choice to users and stakeholders.
  • Creative problem solving and analytical skills with ability to synthesize ideas into tangible solutions for design.
  • Sees value in taking an iterative design approach, has a strong sense of ownership and proactively advocates for the end user.
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • A team player and usercentric.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters in data science or a related field
