Dr Yin Zhongchao Group: Postdoctoral Position - Singapore - TEMASEK LIFE SCIENCES LABORATORY LIMITED

Description

Dr Yin Zhongchao Group ) conducts research on disease resistance to rice bacterial blight, marker-assisted breeding and genetic engineering in rice and tomato. A postdoctoral position is available in the research group to study carotenoid and flavonoid biosynthesis in tomato and disease resistance signalling in rice.

Responsibilities:

• To use genetics and genetic engineering approaches to develop new tomato lines
• To use genomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics methods to characterize and screen for new tomato lines that are suitable for urban farming, especially indoor farming
• To use spare time to characterize mutants that are involved in disease resistance signalling in rice

Requirements:

• PhD Degree in the field of plant genetics and development, biochemistry, cell biology or microbiology from a recognized university
• At least one first-author research paper in an international peer-reviewed journal
• Highly motivated, able to undertake independent research
• A team player with good oral and written English and excellent communication skills
