Workplace:
Main Office - Physical, Sports & Outdoor Education Branch (PSOEB) (21, Evans Road ;
JSA Centres - located at Schools, Sports Centres in all Zones in Singapore


Working Hours:

  • 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. inclusive of 1hr lunch break (8.5hr)
  • Five(5) Day Workweek Scheme with a lunch break of up to one hour per day.
  • Saturdays when there is training and time off will be given.
  • Off days on Sundays, Public Holidays
Main areas of responsibilities


The primary functions of a Sports Executive are to assist in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring the MOE JSA programmes.

He/She is to work closely with PSOEB, the school administrators and coaches on JSA related matters.

The Sports Executives are expected to manage the JSA in the following:

  • Managing the Implementation of the JSA
a) Work closely with PSOEB officers on the needs of JSAs

b) Monitor the participation of the student athletes and take appropriate action on absentees

c) Monitor and assess students' wellbeing and development

d) Ensure that the programmes are adhered to

e) Review and evaluate the programmes and service providers


  • Working with partners
a) Maintain good communication with the parents of student athletes

b) Maintain good communication with school administrators and external organization and provide regular feedback to them


  • Ensure the organisation of logistics, administration, financial matters and procurement of services in support of the JSA
Logistics

a) Plan, implement and control facilities and equipment for the JSAs to conduct its activities

b) Manage manpower, facilities and equipment that the JSAs and schools may face during the course of the year

c) Make arrangements for the transport, logistics and facilities/venues for the various JSA activities

Finances and procurement

a) Procure and stock-keep of equipment required for all JSA activities

b) Monitor the budget for the JSA

Administration

a) Assist in organizing various JSA programmes, projects, events and activities; sports science clinics, selection trial, parent engagement sessions, graduation etc.

b) Maintain records of student's athletes

c) Assist in the engagement of coaches and temporary manpower for JSA

d) Set up SOPs and prepare the necessary documents to submit to relevant authorities for approval

e) Look into Risk-Assessment Management of JSA, especially those that involves certain level of danger


  • Personal training and development (To be provided by vendor)
a) Be responsible for their training and development

b) Upgrading of ICT skills (e.g. Excel Spreadsheet)

c) Remain registered with MOE (IRS) during tenure of service

d) Make sure that their Standard First Aid certificate is;
(i) accredited by the National First Aid Council.

(ii) is valid during contract period and hence subsequent renewal will be required


Other possible areas of responsibilities:
In addition to the primary functions that the Sports Executive is expected to perform, they can also contribute to the following areas:
a) Work with PSOEB (Talent Development Unit) Sports Officers on PSOEB events, programmes, projects and activities

b) Provide innovative ideas and solutions
