About the role:

The Programme Manager will be working in a new product category within Dyson's wider product development organisation.

Reporting into the Head of Product Programmes, the role entails leading multi-disciplinary project teams in different international locations spanning the design and development, manufacturing engineering, product quality and reliability, operations and commercial functions to develop new Dyson products from concept definition to launch.

As a key collaborator and influencer across the organisation, the Programme Manager is pivotal to enable the project, or programme of projects to deliver the business objectives across time, cost and spec.


  • Colead with the project Design Manager, the project team spanning multiple international locations, towards delivering the project success criteria from proven concept to launch.
  • Take an active, handson role to support the identification and resolution of risks to project success criteria.
  • Coordinate and own project communications and reporting.
  • Engage and inform key stakeholders outside of the project team in pursuit of the project success criteria.
  • Identify and articulate any conflict between the project success criteria.
  • Leading by example to adhere to Project Management governance of the project while ensuring appropriate and pragmatic approaches are adopted.
  • Proactively champion change & continuous improvement to adopt better ways of working.

About You:


  • Degree in Engineering or Science or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Knowledge and some experience of Systems Engineering preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience of managing technical or manufacturing projects end to end.
  • Hold, or demonstrate an understanding of, formal project management qualifications (such as APMP) or Project Management degree. Qualified or near qualified applicants preferred.
  • Experience of managing people, mentoring, developing and coaching.
  • Experience of line management responsibility is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to build and leverage productive working relationships to deliver through others.
  • Outstanding project management capabilities focused on delivery (i.e. leadership, senior stakeholder management and communication, risk management, issue resolution, budget tracking, benefits analysis, estimating and planning etc).
  • Authentic leadership: able to provide clear, collaborative direction towards a common goal.
  • Strong communicator: able to listen and convey complex issues concisely and accurately to all levels in the business.
  • Excellent analytical skills: able to use sound analytical assessment to make data driven, evidenced conclusions.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, curious, common sense, proactive selfstarter, resilient and with perseverance.
  • Confident: comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels without diluting unfavourable news.
  • Assertive: readiness to articulate and communicate appropriately towards issue resolution as required.
  • Credible: ability to demonstrate a high level of understanding across all aspects of the project including engineering design and processes in order to prepare trustworthy schedule and decision information.
  • Focused: The ability to multitask and direct self effectively in a fastpaced and often highpressure environment.
