    The Role


    Provide clinical nursing leadership through assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the overall nursing practice and standards of care for patients in the designated unit.

    Promote and implement evidence-based nursing practice and act as an expert resource.


    Nurse Manager:


    Provide Nursing leadership, management and direction in regards to setting and maintaining quality standards, staff development and resource management in daily operation of the unit.

    The Nurse Manager has an overall accountability for the standard of patient care, appropriate matching of nurse competence to patient need, occupational health and safety of the staff, and clinical risk management.

    The Nurse Manager is the face of the organisation to the key customers, doctors, patients, their families and friends.
    Enhance knowledge, critical thinking, skills and competence of nurses who provide care on the clinical units. Develop, implement and evaluate clinical-based education to meet the competency and learning needs of all levels of nurses. Participate in nursing initiative and evidence-based nursing practices to maintain quality of nursing and good patient outcome.
    Key accountabilities

    Communicate, review and update nursing standards, policies, proceduresAct as a professional clinical nurse and resource for nursing practice expertise and evidence-based practices to evaluate care of patients and complex healthcare needs and implement appropriate discharge plansFoster and promote nurses' participation in quality projectsNurture nurses' clinical competencies progressionPerform regular assessment of nurses' competencies to ensure achievement of competency levels


    Nurse Manager:
    Responsible for induction process, competency assessment, learning needs and plans for nurses' career progressionEvaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and make appropriate changes in nursing care deliveryFacilitate reviews on occurrence reports and ensure plans are implemented to prevent future occurrencesMonitor budget and expenditure to ensure efficient and effective use of consumablesPlan schedule to ensure efficient use of adequate skill mix in proportion to patient acuity and censusDevelop, implement and evaluate clinical-based education to meet the competency and learning needsFacilitate induction, supervise and support for nurses by delivering an appropriate induction and Continuing Nursing Education programPerform clinical supervision and regular assessment of nurses' competenciesCollaborate with Nurse Managers / Clinicians on staff development, clinical-based in-service and continuing educationDesign curriculum, incorporating active and creative learning methods, evaluation and innovation in nursing educationQualifications & Experience

    Registered with Singapore Nursing Board is preferredDiploma in Nursing or equivalent and recognised by the Singapore Nursing BoardPost Basic in NursingDegree in NursingAt least 2 to 4 years experience as a Senior Staff NurseCriteria for
