    Roles & Responsibilities

    Missions / Service dimensions

    Geotechnical missions cover the following disciplines: geological engineering, hydrology, hydrogeology, met oceanology, geotechnics, geophysics, geochemistry, geohazards, surveys, aggregates exploration and quarrying, foundation design, underground facilities design. They also cover Onshore and Offshore areas.

    The SERVICE holder is responsible for:

    · assisting to ensure that geotechnical activities are carried out in accordance with best practice, the standards in force.

    · Reviewing the different geotechnical disciplines deliverables issued by ENGINEERING contractors.

    · Preparing Scope of services for studies or surveys to be carried out by a contractor.

    · Monitoring studies and site/laboratory investigations to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the standards in force, the contractual conditions, and the technical requirements.

    · Carrying out studies and calculations in response to requests from other engineering units and other project packages - Pipeline (offshore, onshore), Early works, CPF, dredging, marine facilities and logistics, socio-environmental unit, ...

    · Preparing technical notes/reports with concise outputs, resolutions, and recommendations.

    · Remote and on site geosurveys coordination.

    As part of the above technical missions, the SERVICE holder shall:

    · Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior with regards to the Company's "Code of Conduct" and H3SE rules and regulations.

    · Implement H3SE rules and requirements in his/her area of responsibility.

    · Ensure the confidentiality of all documents issued in his/her area of responsibility (whatever the support).

    · Keep up to date with the Company's Referential - Company Rules and General Specifications-.

    · Keep abreast of changes in local - PNG- and international standards in geotechnical disciplines mentioned above.

    · Throughout the Project, ensure that REX/Lessons learnt are well captured and reported to the Geotechnical leader.

    Activities

    • Review the design documents issued by EPC Earthworks contractor(s): platforms, cut and fill, aggregates/conglomerates management, trenches and slopes stability, piles and shallow foundation, quay design and construction, sheet piles design and construction, water management -hydrology.
    • Follow-up and review of engineering studies regarding the CPF water supply – groundwater, water catchment basin, the metocean update.
    • Follow up the progress of Engineering studies of the aggregates survey, quantities, and exploitation.
    • Review cut and backfills design and the on-field control tests program. The adequacy to best practice and the standards in force are mandatory.
    • Prepare and review the scope of services of in-situ and in-laboratory onshore, offshore and river geo surveys. Monitor the execution progress and the compliance with the contractual terms.
    • Review the design documents issued by Onshore and Offshore Pipeline package – landfalls, offshore pipeline, underground/inground pipeline crossing, faults crossing, landslides and erosion management, swampy areas management.
    • Review the documents issued by CPF package: geotechnical, earthworks and foundations. The offloading facilities design to be reviewed.
    • Prepare scope of services of engineering studies covering the geotechnical disciplines as mentioned above.
    • Conduct design optimization, BOQ and Cost saving exercises.
    • Perform geotechnical calculations: slopes stability, foundations design, etc ....

    · Build a REX/lesson learnt documentation.

    Context & Environment

    Papua LNG Project is a combine onshore and offshore development project comprising:

    · Well pads and the upstream gathering network including flowlines and two parallel multiphase trunklines

    · Upstream Central Processing Facility (CPF), approximately 30 kms from the field

    · Main onshore and offshore export system consisting of a single-phase gas pipeline and a condensate pipeline

    · Integration in existing liquefaction plant located 325 km from the CPF in the vicinity of Port-Moresby

    Qualifications & Experience required

    Qualification: geotechnical engineer or equivalent

    Languages: English mandatory

    Professional Experience: 10+ years in Oil and Gas projects

    Experience in similar position (years): 15+ years at same or equivalent position.

    Technical skills:

    Geotechnical and civils engineering -design and construction-.

    Good Knowledge of international standards, in particular PNGS, AS and NZS.

    Good knowledge of Microsoft applications - excel / Word/Power BI-.

    Self-starter, good communication and interpersonal skill.
