    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to support our research project on Harnessing Randomness and Chaos in Complex Disordered Photonic Systems.

    Project Overview

    The Research Fellow will focus on designing high-performance heterostructures by tailoring non-Hermiticity, conducting novel designs and theoretical analysis on non-Hermiticity designs, and supervising PhD and undergraduate students involved in this project.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design high-performance heterostructures by tailoring the non-Hermiticity
    • Conduct novel designs and theoretical analysis on non-Hermiticity designs
    • Characterize semiconductor materials
    • Perform measurements of optoelectronic devices
    • Test semiconductor materials for defects
    • Analyze experimental data
    • Prepare manuscripts
    • Supervise PhD and undergraduate students
    • Collaborate with team members and prepare reports

    Requirements

    • PhD in Physics, Optical Engineering, Material Science, or related field
    • More than 3 years of relevant research experience in synthesis and characterization of 2D materials
    • Experience in designing high-performance spectrometer and imaging systems by tailoring non-Hermiticity
    • Familiarity with optoelectronic characterization systems and measurement
    • Experience with photonics device fabrication in a clean room
    • Substantial knowledge of on-chip photonics devices and architectures
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
    • Self-motivated with good task initiative
    • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
    • Strong publication tracking record

    Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum
