- Assist with defining, developing and confirming business requirements and solution designs for business and IT stakeholders.
- Participate in & contribute to the development of the Sales & Marketing IS&T strategy and roadmap.
- Provide functional solution expertise, process analysis and consulting services across IS&T and Commercial teams within the Sales & Marketing domain.
- Deliver solution design and manage implementation activities.
- Assess design, applications and systems alternatives and provide recommendation to the business and IT stakeholders.
- Verify the overall quality assurance of solutions, across the design, build and testing phases of delivery projects, including the review and sign off for design and build deliverables.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of integrated applications to drive consistency with data models and standards.
- Investigate and troubleshoot solution incidents and issues and advise the delivery partners on appropriate solutions.
- Support delivery and operations team with solution assurance, problem analysis and troubleshooting as required.
- Participate in and support any procurement related activities on system implementation vendor selection and software product selection.
- Participate in digital architecture, operational and other related governance forums.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Engineering or Commercial disciplines.
- 10 years of hands on experience in solution design and delivery as an implementation consultant or lead solution architect of sales and marketing applications.
- SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) and Logistics Execution (LE) functional experience, as an implementation consultant or part of a solution delivery team.
- SAP BW4 knowledge.
- Strong operational and functional process knowledge in Sales & Marketing, commodity/resources and manufacturing industries.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodology and design thinking.
- Azure DevOps or Jira knowledge.
- Proven experience in business process re-engineering, process design and change management.
- Excellent collaboration, influencing and analytical abilities, building good relationship with key business stakeholders.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a network organisation across multiple regions/time zones.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate complex business requirements to functional and technical solutions.
- Creative and innovative problem solving and logical and structured decision making.
- Agile certification
- Azure API integration knowledge
- PowerBI experience
- Good understanding of master data governance

About the role
The Commercial Process Business Analyst is a member of the IS&T Commercial Business Partner team who contributes to the solution design of applications within our Commercial – Sales & Marketing domain. Working with CTC/SAP SD Functional Architects, the role is essential in the architecting, design support, maintenance, extension and improvement of the applications which manages the contract to cash process, commercial finance, risk management and trading function within Commercial, by providing fit for purpose designs, quality assurance and functional consulting to the Commercial team business users and delivery partners.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced SAP SD specialist to join a market leader in the design and delivery assurance of Sales & Marketing solutions.

The Commercial group is focused on maximising the value of our products, growing value in the marketplace through partnership with the company's customers, suppliers, product groups and Group functions. Headquartered in Singapore, and integrated with Rio Tinto's assets, hubs, and offices globally, Commercial's purpose is to provide the commercial insights to drive value along the mine-to-market value chain. Commercial incorporates and utilises the knowledge and capabilities of the global Sell (Sales & Marketing), Buy (Procurement), and Move (Marine & Logistics) organisations, supported by the Commercial Finance functions including Business Analysis, Market Analysis, Risk, Finance Business Partners, Commercial Treasury and other functions, to ensure our approach to business is driven by a commercially astute and innovative mind-set.
The Commercial group came under the leadership of the Chief Commercial Officer in 2018.
