Areas of focus and responsibilities
In this role, the incumbent will support the Singapore office's fee earners within the groups.

Within your dedicated groups, you will perform in a generalist HR role and support your client group through their full employee lifecycle experience.


The HR Manager will be responsible for establishing a high-quality HR presence within the nominated Divisions as well as across the wider Singapore office with support from the HR Ops and Talent Acquisition teams.

The role will also act as the APAC lead for support on global people related projects, and to ensure collaboration and delivery across this region.

This is not a stand-alone role, and it is expected that the HR Manager will collaborate and coordinate with their peers and colleagues in the region for successful review, coordination and/or implementation of Withers initiatives and compliance requirements.


Responsibilities

Generalist

  • Provide generalist HR advice and support to the partners and support function managers to enable them to manage and develop their people
  • Advising and supporting on all employee relations issues, including performance management, flexible working requests, disciplinary and grievances
  • Support in the management of new joiner processes
  • Manage offboarding processes
  • Preparing correspondence and contractual changes as required
  • Managing the annual the midyear and annual performance review appraisals
  • Working alongside the Head of HR (APAC), other HR Manager(s) and the Regional Divisional Leaders to support the headcount planning process, providing knowledge and advice to team structure and divisional needs

Projects
Working under the general direction and guidance of the Assistant Human Resource Director:

  • Support with Global HR Business Planning
  • APAC HR Section of Intranet
  • Maintaining and developing the HR offering for the APAC region on the intranet, Within. Keep the intranet current making regular updates and being the admin for the pages.
  • Long term plan to try to use the intranet more effectively, particularly with policies/handbooks.
  • Maintaining APAC HR Precedent Bank
  • Maintain APAC Employee Handbooks and develop new policies as required (and in conjunction with global updates to the extent appropriate). Ensuring all are up to date ahead of annual declarations
  • Survey Monkey Enterprise
  • Develop the team's skill level in using Survey Monkey
  • Manage global HR surveys, specifically across the APAC region
  • Health & Safety Policy and Guidance
  • Global and Local Engagement Surveys
  • Supporting HR initiatives being generated by the Withers Tree of Life we have noticed an increasing demand for our time on projects or policies generated by the Withers Tree of Life eg. Trans, Pregnancy Loss, Menopause, Domestic Abuse, Sabbatical, Fertility policies.
  • Appraisal process this needs to be reviewed and managed centrally, globally annually.
  • Projects any HR related projects coming out of the Way We Work program such as DPC restructure, Divisional Support Review, Global Mobile Working as well as crossfunctional projects such as Anti Money Laundering background screening.

Developing our people

  • Ensuring effective talent management of people within nominated Divisions; including overseeing the annual appraisal process, identifying secondment opportunities, assessing and advising on technical and practice management skills development for the feeearning and support teams

Compensation and benefits
