Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic Investment Analyst (China Equities) to join our team in Singapore.
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and assessing investment opportunities, preparing financial models, conducting research, and eventually managing a portfolio of Chinese equities.
Expected responsibilities:
- Assessing the attractiveness of potential investments in listed equities in China by analysing their business model, strategy, and competitive environment
- Creating/maintaining valuation models for companies under coverage by thoroughly analysing their financial accounts, underlying industry metrics and operational metrics. Your insights will help us make longterm investment decisions
- Leading meetings with company management, speaking to various stakeholders (suppliers, customers, former employees etc) and attending broker conferences
- Providing regular updates and recommendations to the investment team on companies under coverage
You are a value investing enthusiast, passionate about investing, curious to learn about businesses, and experienced in covering the Chinese equity market.
Traits we are looking for:
- Strong understanding of financial analysis and company valuation
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market trends, yet humble and mentally flexible enough to change your opinion
- 13 years of experience on the buyside with a track record of picking undervalued companies
- Enjoy working in teams, asking difficult questions and be willing to voice dissenting opinions
- Intellectually curious, independent thinker and selfdriven to learn about new business models and industries
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
