Risk Management Director - Singapore - MERRIES EMPLOYMENT LLP

Description

Our Client in investment banking is looking for a Director of Risk Management, focused on mitigating markets risk, compliance & regulatory risk as well as strategic, operational and financial risks.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement a robust risk management framework for identifying, monitoring, and managing financial institution risks.
• Lead the execution and implementation of the risk management framework, including relevant systems, policies, and procedures, encompassing credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.
• Oversee the development and implementation of country-specific risk management plans in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate discussions with Business Heads to support business plans and address business/credit issues.
• Supervise independent risk assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and Group standards.
• Ensure timely reporting of risk assessments, breaches, and deficiencies to the Board of Directors, Management Risk Committee, and Executive Committee, advising on preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators through periodic visits and formal/informal communication.
• Ensure adequate staffing, training, and talent development within the Singapore organization

Requirements:

• 10-14 years of experience in the financial services industry (equities, CFDs, fixed income, leveraged forex, etc), covering Compliance, Internal Audit, and Risk Management.
• Thorough understanding of key risk and control concepts, tools, and trends.
• Strong business acumen with a good understanding of critical business drivers
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams
