    We are actively seeking a seasoned and results-driven Vetting Officer who will collaborate with the Vetting Manager to facilitate day-to-day operations and support the vetting process within Fleet Services and Third Party (Chartered) vessels across various business lines. Responsibilities include managing communication with external providers/clients to address vetting requirements and ensuring adherence to service levels.

    The Responsibilities:

    • Support the Vetting Manager in day-to-day operations and take responsibility for the vetting process within Fleet Services and Third Party (Chartered) vessels in collaboration with various Business Lines
    • Liaise with external providers/clients to address vetting requirements and ensure adherence to service levels
    • Monitor the OVID/CMID status of all Fleet Services managed vessels, overseeing the correct administration of inspection processes in the internal database
    • Maintain the third party vessel database (VINE) of vetted vessels and follow up on any open corrective/preventive actions
    • Update, check, and maintain the OCIMF Vessel Particulars Questionnaires (OVPQ), the IMCA Vessel Particulars (CMID), and the OVID & CMID databases in close cooperation with the Marine Assurance Officers
    • Assist in the preparation of required vetting statistics (Fleet Services & 3rd party vessels) and contribute to the preparation of internal periodical/monthly/quarterly reports for the vetting department
    • Assist in the preparation and data collection for OVMSA audits and various client bidding questionnaires in close cooperation with the Vetting Manager
    • Handle vetting-related and ad hoc queries

    The Requirements:

    • Minimum two (2) years of higher technical education (e.g. Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering, or Maritime Education) and experience as a certified vessel engineer
    • Work experience in the Maritime Industry with a minimum of three (3) years of sailing experience or minimum three (3) years of onshore work experience with the vessel owner/operator in vessel QHSSE and/or technical superintendent position
    • Strong organizational, coordination, and time-management skills with a keen attention to detail
    • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people in varied settings and excellent communication skills in English, both in written and spoken
    • Ability to visit vessels, other marine assets, and other Fleet Services offices when required
