Manufacturer (Carpentry, Interior Design & Renovation)
- Position Title: Carpenter
- Working Location: UBI
Duties & Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements to establish furniture dimensions during the design or construction of wooden structures
- Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
- Cut and shape wood materials to obtain components for a furniture unit and install them where designated
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or preconstructed items
- Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
- Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
- Build and erects scaffolding and other construction structures.
- Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as carpenter
- Handson experience in working with carpentry materials
- Good understanding of carpentry techniques installation and construction method
- Excellent Joinery and cabinet making skillssuch as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation etc
- Proficient t in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, powered saws, nail guns, hammers, rulers etc.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Proficient in English and basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
