We are looking for an experienced commercial transactions attorney to join our Data Legal team as our first data attorney in the APAC region.

We are looking for a leader with a passion for data, who has excellent judgment, loves to analyze novel and complex legal issues, find creative solutions, and partner with business counterparts to effectively negotiate deals.

We want a team player who can collaborate cross-functionally and cross-regionally while also balancing competing demands, working independently, maintaining a positive attitude and, hopefully, contributing some humor to our legal slack channel.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Collaborate with key stakeholders on our Data Partnerships, Business Development, Inventory and Product teams to advise on complex legal matters and develop creative solutions to contribute to the overall success of the company, with a particular focus on counseling and leading deal support for Data Partnerships initiatives in the APAC region.

Structure, draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements, with particular focus on data licensing and all aspects of data rights and usage, including supporting strategic data initiatives and working closely with the Data Partnerships, Product, and Privacy teams.

Lead legal role in high-visibility projects with our top partners and build strong relationships with key business decision-makers.

Regularly improve our legal commercial processes to help us scale globally with a consistent but locally relevant approach and to help the company to move quickly and thoughtfully.

Provide practical and strategic advice on legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures and company policies in a risk-tolerant, but compliance-oriented environment.

Identify, research, analyze, and advise teams on a wide range of relevant legal topics (e.g., licensing, intellectual property, commercial, data security, and privacy law), issues, and risks.

Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company globally.
Be part of a team environment with frequent collaboration and learning opportunities.
Mentor and lead other attorneys.


WHO YOU ARE:
8+ years legal experience working in house or in combination with an internationally recognized law firm.
Admitted to practice law in at least one Asian jurisdiction and attended a top-ranked law school.
Strong experience operating internationally, including across different Asian countries, and interacting with all levels of employees.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while juggling competing, time-sensitive demands.

Excellent business judgement, superior leadership skills, and strong commitment to providing timely and top-quality client service with superior work product.

Excellent legal skills, including significant experience in structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial technology agreements, with particular experience and understanding of intellectual property and data licensing.

Excellent interpersonal skills (sense of humor is a big plus).Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in layman's terms.
Background in digital advertising, privacy, and/or digital media is strongly preferred.
