    Roles & Responsibilities

    MISSION

    The main missions of the School Educational Counsellor (CPE) are divided into three areas: the educational policy of the school, the monitoring of students and the organization of school life. In collaboration with teaching and guidance staff, he/she helps to advise students in the choice of their guidance project.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Under the supervision of the Vice Principal in charge of the middle school, the CPE (Year Head) will:

    • Manage a team of secondary school assistants
    • Manage pastoral care in coordination with the second CPE
    • Participate in the elaboration of the educational policy of the establishment, coordinate its implementation and ensure the follow-up of the educational component of the establishment's project
    • Supervise staff, participate in the constitution of classes
    • Monitor punctuality and student attendance
    • Organise students' comings and goings
    • Take measures specific to pastoral care to ensure students' safety
    • Responsible for the respect of the internal rules' provisions, and able to propose improvements.
    • Exchange information with teachers, educational and management staff on students' behaviour and activity
    • Implement interventions to remedy students' difficulties as needed
    • Monitor classes, including participation in class council meetings
    • Establish good relationships with students on a collective and individual level
    • Organise consultation and student participation (delegates,Student Council, Educational Committee, ...)
    • Help in organising student-initiated projects
    • Liaise with families regarding pastoral care
    • Take part in the actions of the Health and Citizenship Education Committee
    • Provide personalised follow-up of students in relation with families and participate in their orientation project
    • Contribute to the operation and development of the school and its outreach (involvement in projects and events, etc ...)
    • Contribute to teamwork
    • Preside some class council meetings he/she is in charge of
    • Use information and communication technologies to support learnings

    SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

    • French Ministry of Education tenured CPE or equivalent
    • Bachelor degree minimum
    • Experience at the secondary level (middle school and high school) is preferable
    • Knowledge of the French education system and regulations
    • Organised and good interpersonal skills
    • Reactivity and availability
    • Ability to adapt and benevolence
    • Very good writing and speaking skills
    • Ability to manage a team
    • Strong ability to work in a team (with the second CPE (Year Head), the teaching team, the management team) and to demonstrate dedication to projects
    • Mastery of digital tools
    • Ability to adapt to non-French speaking students
    • Ability to provide instruction adapted to a wide variety of students
    • Ability to work in a transversal and multidisciplinary way
    • Proficiency in English (B1 level and above) is a plus

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Full time (38h/week)
    • Remuneration will be based on company
    • Starting Date: End of August 2024
