Production managers ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.

**Responsibilities of the job include: - Planning and organising production schedules;

Assessing project and resource requirements ;
Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers ;
Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met;
Determining quality control standards;
Overseeing production processes;
Renegotiating timescales or schedules as necessary ;
Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials;
Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment;
Supervising and managing the work of junior staff;
Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff;
Organising relevant training sessions;
Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

**Requirements of Production Managers include the following: - Minimum 10 years of prior production experience

Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
Strong project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to coach and motivate employees
Proven record in training employees about safety and production
Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
