    As Category Manager for our Facilities Procurement category, you will join the multifaceted Indirect Facilities Procurement team at Micron You will drive the facilities capital category and supplier relationships globally as the main point of contact for assigned suppliers.

    We lead external engagement with facilities equipment and construction material suppliers and lead them through sophisticated techniques, models and processes that result in high quality supplier support when providing goods and services. In internal partnership with Global Facilities, R&D, the construction teams and operations/maintenance teams, you'll recommend requirements and implement sourcing strategies.

    This includes activities that support critical initiatives, supplier performance management, global supplier coordination, sourcing activities and healthy supplier relationships. As a subject matter expert, you will engage in and own the development and implementation of supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply and quality

    What's Encouraged Daily:

  • Perform commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with our strategic direction.
  • Ensure suppliers compliance with Micron's business ethics, code-of-conduct programs, and corporate safety policies and social responsibility initiatives.
  • Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to Executive Leadership
  • Provide the voice of the supply base to and from Micron.
  • Develop a category strategy for each equipment segment while leading sourcing events/RFx process and negotiations with savings targets and contract requirements in mind.
  • Manage Supplier Performance and partner with Global Facilities team members to build comprehensive view of supplier performance.
  • Collect and relay site specific priorities to suppliers.
  • Own and handle overall Strategic Supplier relationships for equipment category
  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and supervise supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement.
  • Prioritize and deliver on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings Create and Implement Equipment Category Strategies
  • Provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal customers on a focused schedule.
  • Utilize should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace.
  • Lead offsite manufacturing and module category procurement category and share knowledge with key partners and Indirect teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution.
  • How To Qualify:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • PMP certification or equivalent, preferred.
  • Electrical, Mechanical and Process Engineering, preferred.
  • Manage multiple large-scale EPC projects concurrently, ability to work with minimal direction; strong project management skills.
  • Strong technical background in Facilities Equipment and Construction Material category
  • 10+ years' experience in Project Procurement Functions in large-scale EPC projects.
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Comfort around Leaders and Executives, ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations preferred.
  • Travel is required.
