    Roles & Responsibilities

    Job Title: Audiovisual (AV) Technician

    Overview:As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment used in various events, presentations, conferences, and meetings. Your role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of audiovisual systems to facilitate effective communication and engagement for clients and participants.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Setup and Installation:Install, configure, and set up audiovisual equipment including projectors, screens, sound systems, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and related peripherals.
      Ensure proper cabling, connections, and integration of AV components to create functional systems.
    2. Operation and Support:Operate audiovisual equipment during events, presentations, and meetings to provide seamless audio and visual experiences.
      Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-site support to resolve any equipment malfunctions or user problems promptly.
      Assist presenters, speakers, and organizers with using AV equipment effectively.
    3. Maintenance and Upkeep:Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections of AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
      Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components or equipment as necessary.
      Keep inventory of AV equipment and accessories, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
    4. Quality Assurance:Ensure the quality of audio and video output, including clarity, volume, and resolution, meets established standards.
      Test and calibrate equipment settings to achieve optimal performance in different environments and settings.
    5. Technical Expertise:Stay updated on the latest audiovisual technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
      Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.
    6. Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with event planners, clients, and other staff to understand AV requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
      Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to coordinate setup schedules, technical requirements, and any changes or updates.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role in the audiovisual industry.
    • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment such as projectors, audio mixers, amplifiers, microphones, and video conferencing systems.
    • Knowledge of audiovisual principles, standards, and protocols.
    • Familiarity with AV software, signal processing, and control systems.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
    • Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends as required by event schedules.

    Education and Certification:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational training or certification in audiovisual technology or related field preferred.
    • Relevant certifications such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or similar credentials desirable.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and move heavy AV equipment and accessories.
    • Stamina to stand, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
    • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling small components and connectors.
