    About The Position We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to act as a vital liaison between our R&D software engineers and the IT team at Virtuos. This role is pivotal in managing and provisioning infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and effective communication between departments. The SRE will be instrumental in deploying and maintaining critical infrastructure, monitoring systems, and ensuring that R&D services are scalable, secure, and efficient.

    Responsibilities


    • Act as a bridge between R&D software engineers and the IT team, facilitating effective communication and understanding of technical requirements.
    • Take charge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Manage the requisition of new hardware and resources from IT based on developers' needs.


    • Oversee the deployment of new servers, utilizing tools like Terraform and Kubernetes to integrate them as nodes in our infrastructure.


    • Ensure high availability and reliability of services deployed by R&D, adhering to security protocols set by the IT department.


    • Collaborate with R&D developers to make services easily reconfigurable and adaptable to changing needs.
    • Develop and maintain backend infrastructure, including building metrics and alarm systems for proactive issue detection and resolution.


    • Implement telemetry and logging solutions to enable comprehensive monitoring and analysis of system performance and potential issues.


    • Maintain and improve system documentation and standard operating procedures for infrastructure management.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


    • Proven experience in infrastructure management, including experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.


    • Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Python, Shell, Bash or similar languages.
    • Strong understanding of server hardware and experience in managing server lifecycles.


    • Experience in implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.


    • Familiarity with cloud and on-premise infrastructure environments.


    • Knowledge of network security and compliance standards.


    • Excellent problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Experience working in an agile environment and proficiency with version control systems like Git. Preferred Skills
    • Familiarity with game engines, content creation tools, and pipelines used in the gaming industry
