    About the Role:

    The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join the Yong research group. Our team works on novel problems in biological and complex systems, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches combining mathematics, physics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistics.

    As a Research Fellow, you will be involved in analyzing big data of complex systems, such as DNA, RNA, biological networks, social networks, and financial markets. Your work will contribute to understanding the behavior, patterns, and interactions within these systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and apply mathematical tools from algebraic topology, combinatorial topology, computational topology, and differential geometry to characterize and model biopolymers like DNA and RNA.
    • Design and implement simplicial models for molecular representation, featurization, and learning, focusing on nucleic acids such as DNA and G-quadruplex.
    • Utilize molecular modeling and AI to quickly assess compounds with Essential Physicochemical Properties for drug design and development.
    • Translate research findings into practical applications in pharmacology.
    • Perform numerical simulations on National Supercomputing Centre Singapore's computing resources.

    Requirements:

    • PhD in a reputable university, preferably in physical sciences or STEM fields.
    • Good publication track record.
    • Strong background in artificial intelligence and biochemistry, with experience in numerical simulations.
    • Expertise in numerical simulations and ability to code and run simulations on deep learning workstations/supercomputers clusters.
    • Able to think and work independently, with an aspiration to perform high-quality research publishable in top-tier journals.

    Estimated Salary:

    $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
