    Roles & Responsibilities

    Research Fellow/Associate, Natural Language Processing (NLP)

    Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is searching for a Research Fellow/Associate in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) under Professor Andy Khong. LKCMedicine, a partnership between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Imperial College London (Imperial) is training doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. A prospective candidate needs to have a doctoral/master's degree in computer science/EEE specializing in NLP or Machine Learning (ML). We seek a highly motivated, meticulous, and well-organised candidate able to work independently and collaborate in a highly diverse, multi-cultural and interdisciplinary team.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Research activities:

    • Data collection, data management, and statistical analyses of medical data
    • Large Language Models (LLMs) fine-tuning
    • Developing LLMs associated with medical data
    • Human and automatic evaluation of fine-tuned LLMs

    2. Research publications:

    • Manuscript drafting and editing

    3. Liaising with external collaborators, particularly on technical matters.

    Qualifications/ Requirements:

    • Doctoral/Master's degree in computer science/EEE specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Machine Learning (ML).
    • Skills in NLP, ML, LLM field
    • Experience in software development life cycle and programming languages
    • Experience in writing and publishing research papers in top-tier NLP/ML conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP)
    • Skills in managing technical aspects of the project
    • Highly motivated, meticulous, and well-organised,
    • Good leadership skills and a team player
    • Able to work independently and collaborate in a highly diverse, multi-cultural and interdisciplinary team
    • Adaptable and willing to enter into deep learning in new areas
    • Fluent in written and spoken English with good communication skills
