Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds.

Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Vice President, Regulatory Compliance WPB.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a compliance team to embed a customerfocused culture; supporting the asset management business to manage various RC and FCC risks, specifically in relation to alternative investments
  • Development and continuous review for appropriateness of framework to monitor RC and FCC developments impacting AMSG
  • Active participation and lead to drive implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of RC and FCC changes on AMSG. Ensure strong partnership with business and Compliance peers to drive and accelerate global policies, programme, guidance and procedures for AMSG
  • Implement as required global initiatives, policies and systems that ensure that AMSG's exposure to RC, FCC and reputational risks are managed, in a practical and effective manner
  • Establish and implement global standards and strategic policies in region to ensure AMSG's exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner
  • Work closely with SGH, Regional and Global RC and FCC teams to manage Risk and Compliance matters
  • Report significant issues to Senior Management both within asset management and compliance itself
  • Provide risk stewardship advisory support on all alternative investment related matters
  • Build good relationships internal and external stakeholders i.e. asset management colleagues and leadership, legal, auditors as well as regulators
Requirements

  • Solid and practical knowledge, with around 5 years of Compliance working experience in alternative investment management companies, of the relevant business and the products involved
  • A good understanding of relevant regulations specifically, the Securities and Futures Act ("SFA"), and ideally an understanding of

  • Guidelines on Environmental Risk Management for Asset Managers


  • EU

  • Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive


  • EU

  • Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation
  • Excellent advisory skills, demonstrated through having provided consultation and compliance advice on alternative investments products, processes and procedures
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators
  • Able to interpret complex information and communicate highlights, succinctly to a variety of audiences, adapting style accordingly
