Position Summary:
In anticipation on the following

  • CCTV NSEW tender (end of the year) > 50% during 6months then 25% during 6 months TCQ
  • BPLRT project (starting potentially in November/December) > 25% during 6 months
  • C760 NEL CCTV back end (project to start next year) > 75% during 1 year
  • Bangkok and Malaysia offers next years > 25% in 2023


System designs of Communications subsystems requires competent system designers who have track records of completed design works of at least one project with scale and complexity similar to that of the typical metro railway project.

System Engineers with designated domain knowledge are expected to produce detailed design and implement respective systems for Transportation project. He will be involved with complex and difficult designs following established system engineering process

The System Engineer is responsible for design activities required to develop a solution or product. He analyses the customer's and other stakeholders' needs whatever the used means (e.g. advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes,)

  • Describes the missions, functions and requirements on the subsystem
  • Formalises the specification and the architectural design to develop the subsystem
  • Prepares and performs the solution or product integration, verification and validation tests.
The System Engineer will have to specialise in Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) or Video Surveillance System(VSS)


Situation in the Organization:
This System Engineer member of the Engineering team, reports functionally to the Engineering Manager or the Project Design Authority.


Context:

  • Transportation Project ( Mainline, MRT, LRT )
  • Large project requiring multiple international entities.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Design, specify & costing of detailed Subsystem, including

  • Interpreting customer requirement and producing fully detailed & compliant design.
  • Interfacing with customer engineer for design definition.
  • Interfacing with other systemwide designers for service definition.
  • Interfacing with suppliers and vendors for product definition.
  • Evaluating and costing of the most suitable products and system.
During site implementation, testing & commissioning

  • Leading the commissioning activities on site, as well as producing the commissioning documentation
  • Providing support to the installation and maintenance works.
Keep track of progress of all design & interface tasks

  • Carrying out all assigned work efficiently, with a minimum of supervision,
  • Expediting response and deliverables (documents & including engineering drawings, specifications, design reports and calculations, equipment details and other project information).

Pre-requisite:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related discipline (essential)
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications Engineering (preferred)
  • Strong advantage on following Professional qualifications

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Working Experience (Industry, specialization, type, min no. of years)
- >1 Years of direct experience in designing and implementing telecommunications networks.

  • Completed design works of at least one project with scale and complexity similar to that of the Metro railway market segment (Advantage )
Technical skills and expertise in several of the following technologies and areas of knowledge would be valuable:

  • Knowledge and experience with both Analog and IP CCTV, networking, and cabling infrastructure
  • Proficiency with computers, networks and 3rd party software ( Microsoft )
  • Capable of setting up/programming network Video Recording
  • Knowledge and experience with Video Content Analysis (VCA)
  • Experience with CCTV Coverage Design Tools
