The Role:
We are currently looking for an Associate to join our Corporate Development team, based in Singapore. This newly created role is an excellent opportunity for a person with investment or corporate finance background.
Reporting directly to the Director - Corporate Development, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the analysis of potential acquisition or divestment targets for the group, and in the development of growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Due Diligence:
- Review information memoranda, term sheets and other material in relation to investment opportunities.
- Help to identify key commercial pressure points.
- Liaise with local management teams to leverage internal SMEs.
- Coordinate third party diligence providers to produce thorough and inciteful reports.
- Valuation and Financial Modelling:
- Development and maintenance of complex financial models.
- Utilise both fundamental and relative valuation methodologies to determine value of platforms / assets.
- Maintain a database of relevant valuation comps.
- Diligence and challenge the veracity of model inputs
- Deal execution:
- Aid in production of transaction documentation.
- Participate in investment committee process.
- Help to coordinate transaction settlement process.
- Integration:
- Act as a point of contact between vendor and internal integration SMEs during a transaction.
- Ensure integration plan is duly documented prior to going to investment committee.
- Help oversee postacquisition integration process, track according to plan and note pressure points for future acquisitions.
- Ad hoc Projects:
- Proactively source research and stay up to date with regional industry trends.
- Act as a business partner with local management and be a 'force multiplier' on projects which fall outside of their BAU remit (JVs, partnerships, new business propositions, strategic reviews etc).
- Help train and develop junior members of Corporate Development team
- Aid in capital management activities
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university with strong grades, preferably with a major in finance, accounting, economics, law, engineering, or computer science
- 24 years prior transactional experience in an investment bank, independent corporate advisory house, Big 4 corporate finance team, or inhouse M&A team.
- Strong financial modelling capabilities
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of valuation techniques pertaining to the FIG industry
- Exposure to the various activities across the M&A spectrum (acquisitions, disposals, financing arrangements, JVs and strategic partnerships)
- Exposure to crossborder M&A transactions
- Prior knowledge of RMBS/securitisation funding is beneficial but not essential
