    Description

    Roles and Responsibilities

    1. Work with staff, students, parents, external professionals and community agencies to provide quality school counselling support for students' mental health and social- emotional development. Key roles and responsibilities include:

    (a) Work with in-house and contract Counsellors to identify students who need pastoral care and provide counselling to students individually or in groups

    (b) Work with staff and student in providing direct crisis interventions

    (c) Work with Student Admissions Office and Faculty to identify learning provisions for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

    (d) Provide direct intervention or recommendation of support (to Faculty) for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

    (e) Referring students and their families to community resources or external professionals where needed

    (f) Managing and coordinating appointments of students

    (g) Conferencing with staff, parents and external professionals/agencies on students being counselled

    (h) Maintaining case consultation records and providing regular updates on progress of students being seen by external counsellor

    (i) Planning and conducting training for staff on pertinent mental health issues and skills for first-line intervention and support

    (j) Developing and conducting small and large group psycho-educational sessions for students on mental health issues and healthy coping strategies

    (k) Developing and/or making available mental health resources for students, parents and staff

    2. Provide secondary support for in-house student events and activities such as Orientation, Convocation and other ad hoc activities

    3. Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned

    Requirements

    1. Minimum Master's Degree in Counselling

    2. At least 8 years of working experience in counselling and/or volunteer work involving youths and adults. Experience or practice in intervention of special education needs will be an advantage.

    3. Must have a flair, understanding and patience to work with students

    4. Good interpersonal and communication skills

    5. Familiar with MS Office software and must be IT savvy
