    Roles & Responsibilities

    OVERALL

    • Assist the Vice President of Operational Finance (Asia and North America) in providing leadership for the region's accounting and reporting and financial planning and analysis in the Singapore office.
    • The Director of Operational Finance, Asia works closely with Vice President of Operational Finance (Asia and North America) and Group Finance to ensure that the Asia finance function as a whole is working smoothly, to support the business and meet reporting requirements and key stakeholders' expectations
    • Have a business-partnering role, working closely with the region's operations teams to identify areas of growth and change.
    • Participate in corporate planning with senior management to support business goals and objectives.
    • Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital analysis, credit control and asset management.
    • Furnish management reports, and other business reports for management discussion and decisions, and for board purposes.
    • Track and review the business financial performance. Highlight key variances to senior management.
    • Monitor and control expenses, including implementing cost savings and productivity measures.
    • Supervise in enforcing financial controls and conducting cost audits at the hotel level.
    • Review and assess the adequacy of financial and internal controls of all business units to ensure compliance with Group policies. Follow up with hotels on the implementation of internal and external audit points.
    • Review and streamline the work flow process of the accounting and finance functions.
    • Monitor the capital expenditure approval process.
    • Take initiatives in implementing process enhancements and innovations.

    GROUP ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING

    • Responsible for the integrity of the Asia hotels' balance sheet, cash flow and working capital.
    • Ownership and timely communication of Group reporting requirements.
    • Ensure consistency of local unit compliance with appropriate group accounting standards and Group reporting instructions
    • Resolve one-off accounting and audit issues.

    GROUP FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS

    • Responsible for the collation of annual budget, and monthly forecasting – liaising and challenging local teams as to the accuracy and validity of the forecasts.
    • Responsible for collating region-wide hotels' reports for monthly management reporting.
    • Production and analysis of KPIs, at regional and hotel level basis, on a regular basis.
    • The understanding of historic trading numbers, identifying underlying patterns, and ensuring that forecasts are appropriately reflective.
    • Prepare management reporting papers on trading performance, as well as revised forecasts.

    REQUIREMENT

    • Experience in hotel operational finance is essential and experience as hotel FC is critical
    • Multi-site experience
    • Be able to guide and provide training to new hotel FCs and knowledge of local legislation and practices is preferred
    • Good inter-personal skill and a team leader.
    • Be able to travel on request and as required by the role.
    • Must be a qualified accountant from a recognised accounting body with at least 10 years of post- qualification experience.
