We require the Senior/ Clinical Psychologist to perform the following responsibilities:

Clinical Psychologist (ANDS - Adult Neurodevelopmental Service)


As a member of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, you will provide psychological services for inpatients, outpatients and the community within the Adult Neurodevelopmental service (ANDs).

Where needed, your responsibilities include working on special community projects that involve providing clinical consultancy and training.


You will be passionate about improving outcomes for adults with Mental Illness and Intellectual Disability and/or neurodevelopmental disorders through the employment of evidence based interventions.

You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team members within Adult Neurodevelopmental service and within IMH, and incorporating a transdisciplinary approach.


You will be expected:

  • To have knowledge and theoretical background in working with challenging behaviors in the special needs population
  • To assess behavioural problems and conduct behavioural interventions with patients presenting with behavioural problems
  • To work closely with adults with mental health illness, behaviour problems, and /or intellectual disability, and/or adults with autistic spectrum disorder.
  • To be a team player, working closely within a multidisciplinary team with an transdisciplinary approach, in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
  • To assess suitability and to conduct psychotherapies at the inpatient, outpatient and community settings
  • To contribute to mental health promotion programmes and psychological duties within the institute's and department's framework.
  • To conduct teaching and training duties to colleagues from other disciplines within the multidisciplinary team and hospital
  • To prepare training materials and deliver training to community partners in areas of behavioural intervention, and psychological interventions
  • To provide clinical consultancy to community partners on client cases, in the aspects of clinical and behavioural assessment, as well as intervention and management plans
  • To be readily deployed in other areas of work within the ANDS psychology team based on service needs and requirement

Requirements / Personal Attributes:


  • Preferably with 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience. However, fresh graduates with Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology are encouraged to apply.
  • For the Senior Clinical Psychologist, preferably with 5 to 8 years of working experience
  • Previous experience in working with adults with intellectual disability, with mental illness and/or neurodevelopmental disorder
  • Experience working with children, adolescents or adults with intellectual disability and autistic spectrum disorder is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal, social and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Takes initiatives in working, responsible, open to feedback, receptive to changes, flexible and has a positive learning attitude
  • Empathize, possess interest and positive working approach with the special needs population (i.e. neurodevelopmental disorders, cognitive and physical disabilities) experiencing difficulties in their lives
  • Must possess positive working attitude and works well with team members
  • An ability to be selfmotivated, adapt to changing service needs, multitask and is committed.
