As a Business Developer within Innovation Norway's export and international growth team, you will be working to support Norwegian businesses in entering and growing their position in Singapore. Clients include startups, scaleups and established companies. Particularly you will contribute to the High Potential Opportunity (HPO) Green Maritime project, one of our leading export programs and support Norwegian businesses to succeed in the region.

This is a 2-year contract, with the possibility of permanent position.


Located in Singapore, Innovation Norway connects Norwegian companies with the local ecosystem and regional opportunities. We prioritize areas where Norway has a competitive advantage and offer support for our clients' ambitions to scale, grow and invest across borders. We provide intelligence and advice on opportunities, as well as understanding and exposure to a diverse range of stakeholders and networks, both nationally and internationally. Innovation Norway acts as the commercial section of the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore and is an integral part of Team Norway headed by the Norwegian ambassador.


Role and responsibilities:

• Identifying and documenting relevant opportunities, tenders, and projects in the Singapore market for the Norwegian maritime industry
• Provide market support to customers and liaising with stakeholders in the market including Team Norway
• Gather market intelligence in the relevant market segments. Maintain an updated overview of the market and opportunities
• Produce presentation materials and liaising with social media teams at Innovation Norway and other partners
• Planning, organizing and execution of market entry programs, events, market visits and delegation visits to Norway
• Participation in relevant meetings/engagements with local stakeholders and producing meeting reports
• Coordination with the relevant internal teams at Innovation Norway

Essential criteria:

• MSc of Science, Marine, Engineering, Business, or similar
• Minimum five years of relevant industry experience and proven track record within consulting/innovation/marketing/business development fields within the maritime industries
• Relevant operational experience
• Knowledge of maritime market, technologies, and the maritime value chain as a whole
• Project management and execution
• Ability to organize various events, seminars, conferences, market visits as part of the green maritime HPO
• Fluent in written and spoken English (English as working language)

The role has a dual reporting to Innovation Norway's Director in Singapore, as well as daily reporting regarding tasks to the project manager for the green maritime HPO, and will be integrated in Innovation Norway Singapore' team.

Our offices is co-located with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Singapore.

The position is local employment with conditions according to Singapore terms.
