    Responsibilities

    You will provide mentorship to develop and manage the strength and conditioning team. This position will design, implement, and deliver strength and conditioning services to multiple National Sports Association (NSA).

    In this role, You will,

    · Support the Strength and Conditioning Team Lead in all aspects of the delivery of strength and conditioning support within SSI including but not limited to staff management, facility management, budget planning, establishing, and maintaining a positive team culture.

    · Provide mentorship to develop the strength and conditioning staff including setting direction and standards.

    · Design and implement strength and conditioning programs in collaboration with coaches and other sport scientists. These include, but are not limited to, programs to enhance strength, power, speed, agility, movement skills, endurance capacity and injury risk reduction and rehabilitation.

    · Provide assigned sport teams with strength and conditioning testing and monitoring support in the daily training environment and training camps.

    · Drive a culture of continuous improvement by constructively challenging coaches to develop appropriate strategies to achieve objectives of continued athlete development and performance.

    · Facilitate conflict resolution and management of issues impacting on athlete performance while proactively contributing to performance teams through individual accountability, sharing information, involving team members in decisions, and demonstrating commitment to the team.

    · Support a learning environment which enables coaches and athletes to gain insights through physical and performance variables which assess training program effectiveness, informs program design and competition strategies, and contributes to a multi-disciplinary approach to athlete/event profiling.

    · Establish and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes.

    · Take on the lead scientist role for an assigned sport team. This involve managing the sport science support services, and developing and operationalizing a two-to-six-year R&D roadmap for the sport.

    Job Requirements

    We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.

    In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:

    · Background in Sport Science or Strength and Conditioning or related specialty

    · Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Level 2 or higher, Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) Certificate or an internationally-recognised equivalent

    · CPR and AED certification

    · Minimum 15 years in the provision and application of strength and conditioning support and proven experience interacting with high performance coaches and athletes

    · Demonstrated ability to modify and develop programmes according to the results of a needs analysis including athlete assessment, musculoskeletal, dynamic profile and injury history

    · Demonstrated more than 2 years of experience in the management and/or supervision of staff

    · Demonstrated extensive experience in working in a high performance environment encompassing project and research studies

    The level of offer will commensurate with applicants' experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance.
