    Roles & Responsibilities

    Join a dynamic team in the heart of finance and contribute to the success of the operations of a leading financial institution. As the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving local and Head Office accounting and reporting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead MAS Regulatory Reporting, Statutory Accounts preparation, and corporate tax filings.     Principal Responsibilities:

    • MAS Compliance Oversight: Monitor and ensure frequent compliance with MAS regulations, submissions, and surveys, including International Trade in Services Survey and International Investment Abroad Survey.
    • Financial Integrity: Ensure the completeness, correctness, and integrity of financial information provided to Board Members, Head Office, local authorities (ACRA and IRAS), and other stakeholders.
    • Statutory Reporting: Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and other documents for the finalization of annual accounts (MAS 609) inclusive of additional information and workpapers.
    • Tax Filing: Check annual income tax filing, quarterly GST submissions, prepare FSI return, and assist in FSI reward application.
    • Stakeholder Interaction: Respond to queries from inter-departments, MAS, internal and external auditors, IRAS, and tax advisors.
    • Project Leadership: Lead projects to operationalize changes in accounting standards, regulatory reporting, and taxation, including testing and maintenance of relevant IT systems.

    Profile/Qualifications:

    • Education: Degree/diploma in accounting and/or professional qualifications (e.g., CPA).
    • Experience: 8-10 years of solid accounting experience in the banking and financial services industry or with a Big 4 audit firm.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid knowledge of local regulatory and reporting requirements for wholesale license holders, including updates to standards and notices (e.g., MAS 610 and MAS 649).
    • Reporting Expertise: Strong experience in the reporting of MAS 610, BIS, quarterly I&E, and TBGS.
    • Financial Acumen: Sound knowledge of accounting and preparation of statutory financial statements, ability to oversee the overall preparation of accounts such as fixed assets, accruals, payables, and account analysis.
    • Auditing: Familiarity with handling inquiries from internal and external auditors.
    • Taxation: Knowledge of corporate taxation for banks, experience in preparing quarterly GST returns/ACAP, supporting ECI, and tax returns is beneficial.
    • Communication Skills: Strong team orientation with excellent professional and effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
    • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to change with analytical skills, enthusiasm, and intellectual curiosity.
