Reporting to the Manager of E&I Department, the incumbent will be assigned to the Instrumentation team within the department to lead the project from conceptual design towards detailed design stage for integration into one complete system solution in the construction and commissioning of the EPCC projects.
Responsibilities
· Understand project and contract specifications.
· Define work scopes for topside engineering company.
· Work together with topside engineering company to work out FPSO Topside instrument system concepts, schedule of deliverables and plan activities in line with overall project schedule, and monitor the progress.
· Review and ensure equipment layout in compliance with requirements of contract, classifications and regulations and coordinate with various disciplines for material handling, constructability and installations, operations and maintenance, and safety etc.
· Review topside instrument documents, such as design philosophies, ICSS topology, I/O list, Instrument list, cause & effect matrix, control narratives, intrinsically safe loop calculation, SIL verification, room layout and deck arrangement, cable schedules and etc. Make sure the designs are in compliance with requirements of contract, classifications and regulations.
· Review procurement engineering documents issued by topside engineering company, such as technical specifications, instrument data sheets, technical bid evaluation etc.
· Review and comment vendor documents.
· Participates in technical meetings, progress reviews, 3D Model reviews; addresses issues related to electrical design, interface.
· Participate in safety studies, such as hazid, hazop, gas dispersion study and etc.
· Address comments from client, classification and other third parties working on the project.
· Communicate with vendors and other disciplines to ensure that changes are timely captured and implemented in design and 3D Model.
· Continue all topside instrument engineering activities after taking over from topside engineering company, including document updating, vendor document review, supporting construction, commissioning etc.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering or any other related engineering disciplines
· Minimum 10 years of working experience in Instrumentation design and engineering in the oil and gas industry
