Job Summary

We are looking for a Mainframe Operations Analyst to manage Critical Mainframe Batch and Console Operations for Production, Development and Disaster Recovery (DR) Environment Environment.

Mandatory Skill-set

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
4 to 5 years of experience in mainframe system operations, running batch job execution, and working with OPC;
Able to work with Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS) Job Control Language (JCL);
Experience with MVS/ESA, OS390, and z/OS environments;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Possess strong attention to detail;
Strong collaboration skills and able to work with cross-functional teams.

Has worked in the banking industry.

Responsibilities

Involved in directing job listings to the Development Environment for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to troubleshoot;
Monitor System and Batch Console Messages, promptly addressing any abnormalities;
Manage the restarting of subsystems such as CICS and OPC as necessary;
Control batch job operations within OPC by rerunning, bypassing, holding, prioritizing, or canceling as needed;
Coordinate and schedule batch jobs efficiently using OPC;
Monitor resource contention, including datasets and tapes, for batch job operations;
Download new configuration items to ATM machines as required;
Keep a close watch on ATM Partner Links for any issues;
Initiate or halt batch initiators to adjust batch concurrency based on operational hours;
Restore EOS Reports following instructions from Business Users;
Handle cancellations of Changeman Deployment Packages efficiently;
Purge hung CD processes to maintain system efficiency;
Conduct daily startup checks of the Disaster Recovery (DR) Environment to validate replicated images from Production;
Promptly escalate to SMEs or the Command Center in the event of batch job failures or critical checkpoint job misses;
Monitor system resources including Jess Pool, CPU Utilization, CICS Max Tasks, Long Running Transactions, and Jobs.
