    Our Client : one of Japan's major banks and one of the largest financial institutions globally.

    ** Role : Application support and be available for immediate joining

    Note: Position requires the ability to work various work schedules that may include night standby, scheduled weekend activity and/or holiday activities.

    The role requires the most recent Minimum of 4 years of Financial industry experience in Application support with Proven experience in Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting & Strong proficiency in shell scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl

    Mandatory Skill-set:

    1. Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology;

    2. Application support experience of 4-6 years, from a banking or Financial Institution

    3. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

    4. Technically competent with work experience in financial applications, with knowledge in remittance systems, SWIFT messages

    5. Good knowledge of RDBMS (MSSQL, Oracle) concepts as well as hands-on experience in using SQL for data retrieval and analysis.

    6. Self-motivated and driven to ensure high quality in work deliverable sand completion of tasks in a timely manner.

    7. Good understanding of ITIL Methodologies for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

    8. Good experience in scripting (DOS, UNIX, VBA) -Strong proficiency in shell scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl

    9. Team player with ability to function independently and work with regional teams and vendors

    10. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

    Desired skill-set

    1. Experience in job scheduling tools or automation tools

    2. Knowledge of Mark Logic DB is good to have

    3. ITIL Certified

     **Knowledge of Middleware applications such IIB, MQ, Connect Direct or TIBCO is good to have and will be considered for Middleware Application Support

    Responsibilities:

    1. Monitoring and maintaining the general health of the IT System;

    2. Ensuring the systems are operating at optimal level without issues and manage the change requests, defects management as well as the business-as-usual activities;

    3. Involved in hands-on technical troubleshooting and support, lead the level support engineers and also coordinate projects when needed;

    4. Suggest improvements by providing technical specifications for system / process enhancement

    5. Involved in requirement analysis and responsible to support for enhancements, fixes and emergency application changes deployment;

    6. Ensure IT systems are operating with high efficiency;

    7. Develop implementation, integration, documentation according to agreed standards.

    8. Support Disaster recovery exercises.

    9. Standby support after business on rotation basis

    10. Gather and process relevant information at point of incident and perform quick assessment of the impact

    11. Responsible to communicate on incidents and provide regular update to the higher management, stakeholders and users until incident closure

    12. Work closely with Incident Manager to ensure preventive and detective measures of the applications are identified and implemented.
