    Roles & Responsibilities

    Braemar is one of the world's largest shipbrokers and a provider of expert advice in shipping investment, chartering, and risk management to the marine and energy industries with offices in the UK, Switzerland, Greece, USA, Australia, China, UAE, Singapore and India. The Group comprises two operating divisions: Shipbroking, and Corporate Finance. These work together to offer a unique combination of skills for clients, at anytime, anywhere in the world. Shipbrokers act as intermediaries between two parties in the shipping industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Desk Head in Singapore, you will work alongside colleagues in our Singapore and Atlantic/Pacific region to gain exposure to the full shipping markets.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Fixing dry cargo vessels and/or cargoes in the Handy/Supramax market segment.
    • Liaising with the Group's global offices, where necessary, to optimise business across the Group.
    • Expanding and developing contacts with principals from both Owners and Charterers.
    • Preparing charter parties and other necessary fixture documentation, where required.

    Education, Experience and Skills

    The ideal candidate should be a team player who is focused with strong attention to detail. With critical thinking skills, you will recognise the value of precision and nuance as much as productivity.

    You should have:

    • A commercial/business degree or an associated shipping qualification.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to analyse and present market data.
    • Minimum 5 years of shipping related experience with at least 4 years of experience in competitive broking in the Handy/Supramax market segment.
    • In-depth understanding of the shipping industry.
