Who we are
Experimental Systems and Technology Lab (ESTL) is an in-house tech team within GovTech working with the Ministry of Education. At ESTL, we use technology and design to revolutionise the education sector.

Our team proactively identifies instances where technology can streamline traditional processes to make work lighter in the education sector through data analysis, user testing and prototyping.


What you will be working on:

As our Senior UX Designer, you will be a vital part of our team, bringing your passion for solving UX challenges to create intuitive and practical design solutions for our users.

Working alongside a team of engineers, business analysts and engagement specialists, you will be the go-to person for all things UX.

You'll be responsible for translating business requirements into high-fidelity mockups and collaborating with developers to bring these solutions to life.

Your role will involve spending approximately 70% of your time on individual contributor work and the remaining 30% on mentoring and design strategy to help develop the skills of our team.

As an individual contributor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct discovery work to gain insights into user needs and behaviours
  • Create highly detailed user interface specifications and guide engineers in the implementation
  • Work closely with engineering leads to ensure that all design work meets business requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder requirements and incorporate them into the product desig n

As a design lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Advocate user-centricity and improve content quality and user experience across products and services
  • Implement design tools and processes to simplify workflow and enhance collaboration
  • Mentor and coach junior designers to improve their capabilities in design and research
  • Support recruit efforts to attract top talent to the team
  • An outstanding portfolio that showcases your ability to create experiences that meet both user and business needs.
  • At least 7 years of experience in UI/ UX design, where you've been a key contributor to the success of the products that have been launched.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively in a crossfunctional team and prior experience in that.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with excellent organisational, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, the ability to problemsolve and take initiative to make things happen.
  • A passion and drive to push for the right solutions that make a real difference.
