    JR East Business Development SEA Pte Ltd. (JR-SEABD)

    JR East Business Development (JR-SEABD) is a Singaporean local business arm of East Japan Railway Company (JR-East). Its mission is to enhance customer's lifestyle in South east asia market through JR-East's lifestyle business expertise. In line with the mission, we operate co-working space "One&Co" which is a business platform bridging local and Japanese business communities to create innovations through the network. We also operate "JAPAN RAIL CAFE", a base for disseminating information about Japan, and "JAPAN RAIL CLUB", a membership organization for Japan fans.In addition, JR-SEABD aim to contributes local community with introducing Japanese Retail, Food and Beverage products and brands from various regions of Japan with Japan tourism information, together with the JR-East's "EKINAKA (In-station)" concept.

    Job Description

    As a local subsidiary related to the JR East Group's lifestyle service business development in Southeast Asia, he will be responsible for steering overall management and will be responsible for promoting the Group's business expansion in the region.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    '・As a Director, you are responsible for the overall business management and operations of the company

    ・Ensuring continuous and operations stability, profitability of existing businesses (JAPAN RAIL CAFÉ, One & Co, JAPAN RAIL CLUB) and portfolio companies.

    ・Expansion of new businesses, including participation in TOD (Transit Oriented Development) projects and Ekinka development projects in Southeast Asian countries in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia., and promotion of business alliances and collaboration with leading companies that contribute to the creation of innovation for the JR East Group as a whole.

    ・Working closely with the Japan Head Office and Japanese business partners to understand the overall strategy of the Head Office in a high context, and engaging with employees to spearhead the expansion of the JR East Group's business in South East Asia.

    ・To source and identify business opportunities in Southeast Asian countries that is beneficial to the JR East Group as a whole by building good relationships with local partners in a wide range of industries, including railways, retail, food and beverage, real estate, hotels, tourism, finance, etc.

    Requirement

    ・Hold a bachelor's degree (in any discipline) or above; MBA is preferred.

    ・Have at least 20 years of working experience in two or more of the following industries

    >Railways, real estate, hotels, retail , F&B, travel.

    ・Expertise in station and station-area development.

    ・Have more than 10 years of experiences leading and managing a team of high performing employees

    ・Experience and concrete achievements in developing new businesses and ability to spearhead the new businesses, such as new business development, real estate development, shop development and start-up investment.

    ・As the role requires close liaison to conduct business negotiations and coordination with the head office in Japan and Japanese business partners, he/she must be able to communicate confidently in Japanese which is equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 1.

    ・Possess an extensive network of contacts with Japanese companies and local authorities in Japan.

    ・Have prior experiences and overseas exposure working experiences for at least 4 years, and has practical experiences in business alliances and joint ventures with overseas companies.
