    Roles & Responsibilities

    The Audiologist is a healthcare professional who specialises in diagnosing and managing hearing disorders through the use of corrective devices. He/She evaluates and treats disorders related to the auditory and vestibular systems and uses various equipment to assess the patients' balance system and their ability to hear. He/She then creates treatment plans and prescribes patients with corrective devices such as hearing aids. He/She also counsels patients on how to use the corrective devices, and adapt to hearing loss.

    ~ Analyse data along with other medical professionals to make a diagnosis and find a suitable course of treatment.
    ~ Assess patients with hearing loss, ringing in the ears (tinnitus) or balance problems.
    ~ Examine the ear canal as part of rehabilitative programme.
    ~ Identify disorders of the hearing and balance systems of patients.
    ~ Measure the loudness at which patient begins to hear sounds, their ability to distinguish between sounds, and the impact of hearing loss.
    ~ Provide instruction, rehabilitation, and counselling services to patients.
    ~ Select, fit and dispense hearing aids or cochlear implants.
    ~ Use audiometers, computers, and other testing devices to test auditory problems.
    ~ Work closely with the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists and doctors when the patient requires medical or surgical evaluation, or treatment for their hearing problems.

    ~ Experience with hearing aids. Provide consultation and recommendations in the selection, fitting, verification and review of hearing aids.

    ~ Experience with hearing implant. Perform intra-oprative assessment, switch on and mapping for cochlear implant and implantable devices

    ~ With marketing experience, assist in organizing and coordinating events and activities and support assigned projects.

    ~ Salary negotiable and based on expertise.
